Madlib (The Beat Konducta)

Real Name: Otis Jackson Jr. · Handle: @madlib

Boss SP-303/404 Raw Loop Alchemy, World-Crate Excavation & Jazz Multi-Instrumentalism

Working out of his legendary 'Bomb Shelter' studio in California surrounded by over four tons of vinyl records from Brazil, India, Zambia, and Blue Note vaults, Otis 'Madlib' Jackson Jr. crafted much of 'Madvillainy' in a São Paulo hotel room using only a Boss SP-303, a portable turntable, and a cassette deck.

“I don't need a million-dollar studio — give me a portable turntable, an SP-303, and a stack of dusty Brazilian records.”
